BBQ Barrel - half barrel bbq grill
Hi everone.
I would like to show off the new BBQ bucket I made this summer.
There is a lot of room to use for the barrel BBQ, so you can grill at the same time.
First of all, I found a very old empty bucket in my backyard.
I quickly found that the metal of the old bucket is often thicker than the new one, which is a good thing because it can keep the heat better.
There was quite a thick tie around the barrel and I had to cut it in half.
Later I found out that these things were good legs for my bucket.
After cutting these into two halves with an angle grinder (
I love this tool and it not only really works but looks cool
I want to open this with the grinder.
Importer: If your bucket has the risk of touching some combustible liquid, it will explode if there is still some left in the bucket.
Before you start cutting or filling the bucket with sand, you need to make sure that all liquids are gone.
I drew a line where I cut out the opening and cut the holes using the angle mill.
Be careful not to drive too much.
The opening should be around 90 degrees.
If you put the upper part (
Where is Hingis)
Directly at the top, you should put the bottom of the opening on your right.
You should be a little careful here as there may be some sharp edges where you cut.
The next step is to iron the hinge and stop at the opening to avoid the hinge breaking.
I drilled holes on the side of the bucket and I put some old mesh on it (
I found it at the garbage station. look at old fridges or Owens. you will find a lot. .
To be able to handle the fire, I want two small grids instead of one.
I put the grid on the armored iron at the back, not the front.
Then I can open the grid to add coal or arrange it with fire.
You will also need to hole in the bottom to let the air in, or it may be the chimney to increase the entrance of the air flowing through the barrel.
My bucket has a big opening in the middle of the bottom and a small hole where I put an old tube and the vents are fine.
To make it more useful, I put two layers of mesh in my bucket.
Normally I only fire on one side of the barrel and use the other side to keep the food warm.
If you close the vent hole, you can also use the barrel as a smoker.
I always put a flat stone under the barrel to avoid the danger of burning, whether it's ashes or heat.
If you have any chemicals in your bucket, I suggest that you burn anything left in the bucket before putting anything you should eat in front of the grid.
OK, I took some extra photos this weekend to show the bucket I'm using.
First of all, however, the picture shows a bit of an invention that I'm a little proud.
I cut a line at the bottom on the right side of the bucket (picture 1).
Then I found an old saw blade in the hole (1 and 2).
By moving the saw blade in and out, I can remove the ashes from the bottom of the barrel and push it into the bottom hole (3).
This gives the fire a better airflow and it burns better.
The fourth picture is the iron ring around the bucket I used to make my legs.
The last three photos were baked by me this weekend.
