Greetings. This is a follow up to my previous instructions (I built a charcoal grill that looks like r2 2.My Darth Vida and Boba Fett stove will definitely be awesome.Arhees suggested calling it ChaR2D2-Too interesting to miss!I'm still learning how to weld, so most of the welds you see are far from perfect.Tools: Material: safe!Use two propane tanks.Make sure they are empty.I drilled a pilot hole in them and let them bake in the hot sun in Texas to make sure all the inflated gas was gone.It may be too much, but I don't want to take the risk.(A colleague from Duger suggested a foolproof way to make sure there is no gas in the tank.Take the valve down and fill it with water.Once it's full, all the gas is transferred. Thanks, dhague!) Cut off the bottom of one tank and cut off the top of the other.I fixed the tank on the table with straps.Weld them together to form a longer cylinder.Remove paint by grinding.R2 2 has 3 "feet" made from 16 ga stolen plates bought by me from hardware store.I tracked and cut out 3 pieces that looked like "bow heads", bent them and welded the corner plates.I used 16 more ga to steal plates.I tracked the patterns you saw in the photos, cut them off and bend them.I used an old bed rail to connect the pieces of the legs and 4 tubes together.Weld them together and grind off the ugly welds. The top and door were cut off.I made the air flow opening on the door, adding a latch and a hinge.I added a grill and made sure that the interior of the grill is fairly flat due to the r2 2 tilt.Another hinge was added to the lid and an original handle was added.A high temperature grill paint was used. The body was painted matte black and I highlighted some parts with smooth black. Thanks for watching!!
