grill with side burner How to Troubleshoot a Gas Grill With a Low Flame
Cooking on a gas grill requires heat from a flame. The lower the flame in the grill, the lower the grill temperature, the longer it takes to cook the food, if it can cook. There are many areas of concern that can lead to low flames, such as fault regulators, leaking propane tanks, trip OPD devices, and blocked holes. If rotating the knob on the gas grill clockwise does not increase the size of the flame, Please exclude some areas that may cause low flame.Reset the regulator by turning off the burner on the gas grill.Close the propane tank and disconnect the hose from the tank.Turn on the gas grill cover, turn the burner knob up for about two minutes and close again.Reconnect the hose to your propane tank and slowly open the gas.Follow the lighting instructions of the grill. If this does not increase the flame size, you may have a fault regulator that needs to be replaced.Mix about 1 tablespoon of liquid detergent and water into the bucket. When your grill burns, apply soapy water to the regulator hose, along the perimeter of the propane tank.If bubbles appear anywhere on the tank or hose, immediately close the grill and tank and replace the sparkling item.If no bubbles appear, please check the overflow protector or OPD on your propane tank to see if it tripped.Close the grill burner and propane tank.Turn on a burner for about 5 to 10 seconds and turn it off again.Disconnect the hose and then reconnect the hose to the propane tank.Slowly open the water tank and follow the lighting instructions of the grill. This should reset the OPD device on your tank and increase the flame in the grill. For information on how to remove control knobs and gas holes, please consult your grill manufacturer.Use the hole cleaning tool or a small piece of wire to clean any debris or spider webs that clog the hole and prevent the gas from reaching the burner.Often, these areas are blocked by dust, debris, and small insects that like to call these holes home.By cleaning the hole, more gas can reach your burner to increase the size of the flame.
