How to start a fire in the rain - wood burning fire pit with grill
Fire requires four key components: the starter flame, the kindling of the starter flame, the fuel to keep the fire and the oxygen. 1.
Collect small fire velvet, such as birch bark and branches, and use only fallen dead trees to make fire.
The hemlock branches are great, and there is a resin in the birch bark that burns very hot even when wet.
Or use the small fire starter stick of the hardware store. 2.
Collect dry fuel by looking for fallen dry branches under the big tree.
Split the wood with an axe to enter the dry interior wood.
The needle wood burns hot and fast, and it is best to have a fire. 3.
Start a fire from birch bark and branches and increase the size of the finger. 4.
Ignite, use a regular BIC lighter and remove the child safety device.
If the Flint is wet on the lighter, leave it dry in a dry pocket close to your skin. 5.
Feed the fire by gradually adding larger pieces, done with pieces not greater than the wrist.
Leave a gap between pieces of the same size as wood, make sure there is enough oxygen and that the flame is not extinguished. 6.
Set up a tarp if necessary to prevent rain from entering the fire-high enough to allow the heat to escape and make sure the flame does not reach it.
Tip: There are many ways to make a fire without matches and lighters, but for most ordinary people, they are needed.
In extreme cases, fire around the stub of the candle and light the wick.
Store wood under your kitchen waterproof cloth and keep it dry.
When not using a fire pit, leave a small pile of wood at the top of the grill to keep it away from the ground, where it gets wet.
Wait patiently and be ready to carry birch bark, lighters and tarps at any time.
