live photo of Jennifer Wilbanks in a court in the suburbs of Atlanta, who faces charges related to her disappearance. Our David martinley joined us.He reports in detail in Lawrence Ville, Georgia.Good morning, David.David martinley, cnn correspondent: Good morning, darling. The Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks has not escaped her charges at all in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Not long ago, she appeared before a county judge. She said: "I am very sorry for my behavior. She then continued to thank the county sheriff and the local police and their efforts. Her voice then became very soft. She seemed suffocated by her feelings.Throughout the course of the court, she looked dignified, polite and gentle.I am very sorry for the trouble she caused in creating this episode. She will now face some penalties. The judge suspended her for two years. She also has to receive 120 hours of community service. She was also asked to continue the mental health treatment she had been receiving. You may have seen her leave the court a while ago.We have some videos of her going in and talking to reporters briefly.Unknown male: how are you guys?Jennifer Wilbanks: We're fine.Unknown man: Yes.(End video clip) MATTINGLY: She told the court that she was taking prescription drugs today. She did not say exactly what the drug was, but she did say that it would not affect her decision-making in this regard. Her lawyer made it clear to the court that she had completely decided not to fight the allegations and continue her life.Daryn.Kagan: but it's just a crime.Didn't she have the money to go back and forth with Duluth city?MATTINGLY: Yesterday, her lawyer delivered a check to the city police to pay them overtime pay over $13,000.This is a matter of restitution and is now dealing with it.There have also been some costs incurred by the national authorities in this regard, but it is disclosed in court today that there is no mechanism to return to the national authorities and, therefore, no property will be returned to the national authorities.David martinley lives in Gwinnett County, Georgia.Thank you.Go to California now. This morning, on the hills of Laguna Beach, California, people's homes and heartbreaks. There were devastating landslides, forcing emergency evacuation of about 300 houses and causing damage to 18 other houses.Today, some people will go home, while others will struggle to know that they are not going home. Our Chris Lawrence lives in the luxury community where the House can reach $2 million.Good morning, Chris.Chris Lawrence, cnn correspondent: Good morning, darling.Laguna Beach has been declared a disaster area. The landslide destroyed 18 houses.According to the way the ground moves, the other 11 may also be in danger. You can see that the police are blocking the road behind me where the residents are not allowed to return to the hillside. You can understand why when you look at some pictures. It will let you know the scope and power of this landslide. Some houses were almost cracked in half and just collapsed.Others seem to stay intact as they just slide down the hill and many times residents actually run out in front of them.Jill Lockhart, mudslide evacuees: We ran down the front of the mountain and we could hear the house falling behind us and sinking, I think the Lane moved 200 feet as we ran down the driveway.Lawrence: You know it's been raining for the last few hours. It has been dry for the past month. But in the past winter there was 28 inch rain. There are not many places in this country. This is more than twice what they get in normal years. What happened was that the water had never been drained and eventually destroyed the stability of the soil.Last night, scientists placed certain measuring devices around the affected area.Later today, they will go back and check the devices to see how much ground has moved overnight.Daryn.Kagan: Chris, from what these families are facing, I know that insurance doesn't cover a lot of homes with landslides.Yes, many people are very unhappy about it.We talked to a woman. She said she was fired and she was stolen, but there is no insurance company here that will compensate for the decline that belongs to the word God's act. They can insure individual items individually in the house, but not enough to replace some of the damage we see here.Kagan: Incredible.Chris Lawrence, Laguna Beach, CaliforniaThank you.You may recall that a similar landslide occurred in another coastal community on January. It takes about two and a half hours along the Laguna Beach coast. In La Conchita, about 80 miles north of Los Angeles, 10 people were killed and 15 houses were destroyed.Officials there continue to warn that the slopes there are still unstable and will never be stable. However, there are still many people coming back to their homes.Don ski, a resident of la conchita: I like to live on the beach. This is where I live. This is my house. This --You know, I'm here for the last time, and I don't think it's time for me to leave, you know.I will always come back until I can't come back again.(End video clip) Kagan: on January, when more than 400,000 tons of mud and rock swept over the hillside, firefighters were able to rescue at least three people who were buried alive.Although Laguna Beach has been dry for the past month, you hear Chris Lawrence talk about this and Southern California's rainfall over the past year has more than doubled the usual average. Our meteorologist Jill Brown took a closer look with us from the weather center. This is a wet place for Jill, Southern California.Jill Brown, meteorologist: That's right, darling.Again, it's not the past week, it's not the past month, but we 've had a lot of rain in the past year, and sometimes the impact can take a while to know. Now we know what they are.Kagan: OK, Jill. thank you. There was a different type of fire storm in northern California. The training video of the San Francisco 49ers is all the buzz in the Bay Area.We are warning you now that these photos may not be suitable for everyone to see this morning. The person who made the video said that the purpose of the video is to prepare the players for dealing with the media. But what it contains, including racial slurs, blonde beauties with naked upper body, and a few other things, has already made the community very angry. Here's Rita Williams from CNN affiliate KTVU.Rita Williams, cnn correspondent: This is a video tape that caused all the turmoil.Kirk Reynolds, director of public relations in San Francisco, succeeded Gavin Newson as mayor.Kirk Reynolds: I'm the mayor of San Francisco. This is a beautiful, diverse and huge city.Williams: Reynolds then visited the city extensively to teach 49 players how to deal with the various media here.Along the way, from the mayor to gay marriage, to the Chinese community in the city, all kinds of things have made colorful jokes.Unknown man: Tim Latate (ph) 00 feels good.He feels good now.Williams: And in a different state of undressing, women are the main characters.Reynolds: there are women in the dressing room. There's a woman in the locker room. take a towel.Unknown male: this is a clear offensive. This is an electronic document (ph ).Williams: The team saw the video in August. After someone leaked it to the Chronicle yesterday, the mayor saw it."Mayor Gavin Newson, San Francisco, California.: I'm used to contempt, as they are trying to do in the video, but it's not right for the Asian community, especially the Chinese community. It's wrong to do this to gay communities. It is wrong to use the exploited women in this video. The video should be condemned.Williams: The man in charge of making the tape very much agrees with the mayor.Renault: of course the intention is good.I mean, of course I have a positive idea and intend to send a message to our players in the format they will receive. My taste is very bad and my judgment is very bad. I take full responsibility for this.Williams: a regretful Reynolds is now looking for a new job and he told KTVU sports reporter Fred inglass (ph) today that he plans to leave the 49ers team soonHe said it was his fifth year of making videos. The first one crossed the line, he said.Renault: no matter what the outside world sees, I did use a bad judgment. There's nothing to say about it.Williams: John York, the boss of the 49ers, said he was shocked."The content of this training material has never been removed by any official of the organization and is absolutely contradictory to the ideals and values of the 49 people in San Francisco.Team 49ers head coach Mike Nolan: although it can be said that I was not a member of the regime before, I would like to say that I do apologize for what happened, because I am a member of a 49-year-old family.Williams: Harry Edwards, a 49-year-old consultant and sports sociologist, said he saw the tape for the first time yesterday.Harry Edwards, 49-person consultant: I think it might sink ---To some extent to the extent of stupidity.Renault: pay attention to your teammates. You don't want to do anything that will have a negative impact on the team.Williams: The video tape has obviously given the player this lesson and done its job ---Just not in the way expected.Rita Williams, KTVU, Channel 2 News.Kagan: We are waiting for President Bush's live broadcast on CNN today. We hope he can name his candidate as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. We will take you to the White House when we return.(Business break) Kagan: look at the Live Photos of the White House. We expect President Bush to nominate the new chairman of the Security and Exchange Committee at any time.Given that the recent massive corporate scandal has damaged the public's trust, the regulatory position has become more prominent. Now let's go to Bob Franken, our national journalist, and get ready for the announcement.Good morning, Bob.Bob Franken, cnn correspondent: a knowledgeable and reliable source told us that he is a senior official of the government and that he does not want to be recognized because he does not want the president to step down, this will be Christopher Cox who has been a member of Congress since 1988.Prior to that, he had extensive experience in private business in the financial sector.Prior to that, he worked for President Reagan as an adviser to President Reagan. He's a very easy re-He was elected in a Republican constituency in Orange County. The government has been trying to promote a person for some time.He must be approved by the Senate. For the last time, when he was nominated as a judge of the Court of Appeal, California Senator Barbara Boxer told us that she would try to stop that.So Cox withdrew his name from the nomination. Now, he will rise again to replace those who are known for chasing the company, and the people who came in after the Enron scandal to enforce some tough corporate rules and other scandals that have been so important over the years.President Bush, we look forward to hearing from him and commend President Bush.Donaldson and his head at the Securities and Exchange Commission then said Christopher Cox had the fully correct combination of credentials.Cox is the first chairman of the House of Homeland Security.-Committee on Homeland Security. In fact, he plans to show up in California with Michael Chertov, who is now the secretary of homeland security. But, of course, he will be back here as part of this statement from the White House.Daryn.Kagan: Okay.Bob frankon from the White HouseOrange County reported a lot in today's news. The mudslides on Laguna Beach are also here today.Thank you.We will return to the White House when announced. We can have a rest now.(Business disruption) Kagan: Let's keep looking at the latest Wall Street figures.Wall Street was open for about 50 minutes.A little longer than this. The Dow Jones index fell 33 points. It was a struggle in the first place.Nasdaq also fell. Two points down.Identity theft. This is a growing concern for all of us, but how can you best protect yourself?CNN's Christina Park has some tips in today's look forward to any minute that door opens, President Bush goes out with current congressman Christopher Cox from Southern California. As we expected, the source told us that he would be nominated to replace William Donaldson as the head of the SEC.Cox was elected to Congress nine times from Orange County. And gentlemen.Let's hear from President Bush.GEORGE W.President Bush: Good morning.I am pleased to announce my nomination of California congressman Chris Cox as our next chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. As a champion of the free enterprise system and Congress, Chris Cox knows that the free economy is built on trust. In the next few years, Chris will vigorously implement the rules and laws that guarantee the honesty and transparency of our market and company boards. He will be an outstanding leader in the SEC.Today, the world is envious of the American economy. Our economy is growing faster than any other industrialized country. We added three.5 million new jobs have been added in the past two years. The unemployment rate has fallen to 5.2 percent. There are more Americans working today than ever before.Small businesses are booming and families take home more of their income. To maintain confidence as the cornerstone of our economic system, we must ensure the integrity of American businesses and the integrity of capital markets and stock exchanges.Investors must believe that the information they use to make investment decisions is fair and accurate. The Securities and Exchange Commission is the main federal agency to perform this essential function. The SEC investigates corporate fraud and holds the guilty party accountable when misleading shareholders and employees. For more than two years, Bill Donaldson has done an excellent job as chairman of the SEC.Bill was in this position when our economy was facing a crisis of investor confidence.Under his leadership, the SEC responded positively to corporate corruption. The Commission, under the auspices of Bill Donaldson, has proposed more than 1,700 enforcement actions, a significant increase over previous years. The SEC has helped implement the Sabans/oaksley act, the most profound reform in American business practices since the Franklin Roosevelt era.The agency also responded quickly to the abuse of mutual funds exposed nearly two years ago, strengthening the disclosure of mutual fund shareholders.Bill Donaldson sets high standards for American business, and SEC and Chris Cox are the right people to continue this important work. For more than a decade, Chris has been a prominent representative of California's 48 districts. He has achieved everything from national security to tax reform. As the first chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Chris Cox helped coordinate efforts between federal agencies and Congress to better protect our country from terrorist attacks. He worked effectively with bipartisan members to pass more than a dozen of his bills, including a law that protects investors from abuse of litigation, and an Internet business tax ban.Four years ago, I signed a bill to help American families by phasing out the death penalty. The effort to end the death tax is the result of the efforts led by Chris Cox over the past decade.Chris understands how the market works, and he knows that transparency is needed for financial exchanges and business halls. He proved that he could bring together different people and do things well.As chairman of the SEC, such leadership will be invaluable.I gave Chris a clear mission to continue to strengthen public trust in our market so that the US economy can continue to grow and create jobs. The country is becoming more and more a shareholder.A generation ago, only a small percentage of American households invested in stocks and bonds.Today, more than half of the families are investing in their families and their future. We must now, more than ever, ensure that Americans can rely on the integrity of our markets.Chris Cox is a good person to take the job and he will do a good job on behalf of the American people. He brings a unique combination of skills and expertise. He graduated from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School with honors. He has been a security lawyer for nearly a decade. He teaches tax law.He served at President Reagan's White House and was elected to the National Assembly.I thank Chris for his willingness to serve our country at another important moment in our country.I am grateful to his wife, Rebecca, and their three children, Charles, Katie, and Kevin.I call on the Senate to confirm his nomination as soon as possible.Congrats.REP.Christopher Cox, California: Thank you, sirPresident.Thank you very much.Mr.On behalf of my wife, Rebecca, Charles, Katie and Kevin, I would like to thank you very much, Mr. President, and you are pleased to thank them. It's an important day because Charles, Katie and Kevin don't have to go to school this morning.Six I told me when we walked into the Cabinet Roomyear-The old son of the American president, Kevin--Texas Rangers, he said.Mr.Mr. Chairman, if I am confirmed by the US Senate, I will be very honored to be the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. It would be a special honor if confirmed to follow Bill Donaldson's footsteps, who served the Commission and our country with honor and distinction. The rule of law imposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission has given the United States a more dynamic and dynamic capital market in the world.Only through clear and consistent rules can information about every production part of our free enterprise part be shared unprecedented. These rules, regardless of size, must manage each market participant equally. In this magical world of global instant messaging, the free and efficient flow of capital is helping to create the greatest prosperity in human history. The natural enemy of this economic miracle is fraud and unfair trading.Congress and your government.Mr. President, in order to strengthen the laws that protect investors in our financial markets, they have all done their part.If confirmed, I look forward to carrying out this task in the special role played by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC is one of the best-running agencies in the federal government and has been so for years.During my tenure as a securities practitioner, I have been impressed by the highly qualified professionals who regulate the financing of our market companies. If confirmed, it would be an honor to join this special team.As you know, my recent task in Congress is to chair the Homeland Security Committee, where I see from another vantage point the key role that American financial markets play in our society. The target of the 9/11 terrorist attacks is the financial center of the US economy.Wall Street analysts, traders, accountants and bankers, who were victims of al-Qaida's day at the Twin Towers...Moderator Darling Kagan: listen to some comments from Southern California congressman Christopher Cox.President Bush will nominate the chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC.Bob frankon, please say a few words from the White House.Bob Franken, cnn correspondent: Well, what's interesting is whether Chris Cox marks the end of this intense enforcement, corporate enforcement, stock exchange enforcement. Many companies and accounting firms complain that all of the new rules have actually become a rule that protects you and inhibits their ability to operate. So Chris Cox will assure the senators that he will continue to implement this strict law enforcement measure.Next, the Senate.Using one of Washington's favorite terms, law enforcement is not a dunk.We will see how strong the objections are for Christopher Cox, who is now a member of Congress and nominated by President Bush as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.Kagan: Okay.Bob of the White House.Thank you.Let's change our business perspective.Catherine was with us this morning too.Good morning, Catherine.Catherine Hayes, cnn correspondent: Hi, darling. This is an interesting story.Wall Street really didn't expect that.Indeed, it is clear that until yesterday, Bill Donaldson told his colleagues that he would continue to be the head of the SEC, at least by the end of 2005.So there's a lot to sort out here.He said he was leaving for personal reasons. Some people suspect that there are some political factors working here.Let's hear what Bill Donaldson said yesterday about why he left the Securities and Exchange Commission.(Start video editing) Bob Donaldson, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission: when you are elected chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission or selected as chairman, I think you left politics at the door.I am trying to do this on every issue.(End video clip) HAYS: of course, this is really portrayed in all the financial articles --Because he might leave politics at the door, ups today. But to some extent, this is not on the Republican side, which has caused outrage from the White House people, some Republican lawmakers and, of course, some big businesses. But let's remember what the SEC is and why it's an important debate. The SEC was first established to protect investors and safeguard the integrity of financial markets.Of course, we have just heard President Bush talk about this, saying how important transparency and honesty are to the market in the process of spreading capitalism to the world. When they appointed Bill Donaldson, he used to be the head of a large investment company, the head of the New York Stock Exchange, and once the head of the Yale School of Management, he looks like a person who knows business well. maybe his idea is fair, but it won't be too tough. The accusation against him is that he has been working on issues such as allowing investors to have more say in nominating board members. This was opposed by some people. So let's take a look at Christopher Cox, because the question now is, will he be too close?business?Of course, he said he would enforce the law and respect the work that Bill Donaldson has done.In 1995, according to The Wall Street Journal, he did lead legislation restricting investors' ability to sue securities fraud.President Bush just mentioned him.-In other words, leading efforts to eliminate death tax to reduce inheritance tax.He also pushed for the cancellation of taxes on stock dividends. These are certainly things on the president's agenda. These are the things that big companies, many big investment companies, have been driving.Chris Cox also has a lot of oversight over the SEC.This is an important factor. But keep in mind that in the context of the corporate scandal, Enron does not have enough regulation.Ceo who lied to the boardThis is the environment that Bill Donaldson should correct.Darlin, it will be interesting to see how Chris Cox will carry this flag in the coming months and years.A Wall Street soap opera.Thank you, Catherine Hayes. When we return, we will discuss one of the most important decisions you may make this summer. What kind of barbecue or grill will you get? After the break, Gerri Willis was with that tip.(Start video editing) Dr.Talk show host Phil McGraw: For me, the Gulf War is what CNN really defines for me.I am very enthusiastic about this.I am very supportive of our Army and Army.As soon as they get there, it's my man, you know?At that time, I was really addicted to CNN. CNN was addicted.I mean if they leave the air we may need to do a detox. If you leave the air, you have to have a country in the CNN detox zone.So don't leave the air. They showed me the newspaper in the morning.I mean, I get up, open CNN and start getting ready for the day.If I'm going to another room, open it.If you go back to your room, turn it off.But they will tell you what's going on in the world.Because we are really in the global economy. We are a global society, CNN.So you can get up to bed and they will tell you what you missed. This is why it has become an addiction to it.Kagan: Well, (end video clip) (Business break) two days after one of Washington's biggest political secrets was revealed, we are learning more about Mark Feldt's relationship with Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward and Carl BernsteinBoth said they were fully confident in their mysterious sources. Two people from the FBI.In fact, Woodward wrote in today's Post, "I appreciate any bit of information that I get confirmation or help when Carl and I try to understand many peopleHead Monster of the water gate incidentDue to his position in the chief investigative body, his remarks and guidance have great authority, sometimes even amazing authority.Weight, authenticity and his restraint are more important than his design, if he has.Tonight, CNN's Larry King will invite Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, The Washington Post journalists who have been protecting deep throat secrets for more than 30 years.Exclusive live broadcast of CNN prime time.Just tonight, CNN's 9 th East, Pacific Ocean 6.A woman in Oregon may make some money from Mark Fett's name. What she said was his autograph for 1979 books. She did it on eBay.The seller said she bought the FBI Pyramid"-This is the name of the book.-At the FBI headquarters on 1981.The bid was opened at $10 yesterday. At our last look, the best bid was up to $1,175.Very good. There is more news after that.(Commercial) Kagan: These photos are shown to us on CNN.This is Michael Jackson and his entourage leaving the Neverland Ranch in St. Nez (ph) for Santa Maria.Today, in the case of child sexual harassment in Michael Jackson, we will have a final debate. Our Ted Rowlands did more in court.Okay, what's important now.Barbecue in summer.A season for many of us.We can save you some money if you need a new grill.Gerri Willis, our personal finance editor, has her top five tips.Gerri, you can do five.-The top five you said.In the West, we call it a barbecue. Here you call it a grill. They call it something different.Gerri willis, CNN's Personal Finance Editor: It has a lot of names, doesn't it?But I know, at the end of the day, dad at home wants to spend a lot of money on it.Kagan: It's a genetic thing.Willis: That's right. The truth is, you can spend less money. This is the problem we are going to solve today. If all you really need is the basic grill, all you need is a burger, and maybe a hot dog, you can get the basic grill for only $100 to $300.The consumer report recommends Webb grill. This is something you can use if you are following, Back Door BBQ.It is very easy to use, very small, it will meet your needs if you are just doing this.Kagan: people are a little obsessed with stainless steel.Willis: That's the biggest problem. We all want stainless steel. Here is an easy way to do this. You may be directed to something called the 300 series steel. Now, it's like uberlux, and it costs a lot of money because they mix nickel with stainless steel. It should be better in the long run.But I tell you, you don't have to go that far.You can go to the 200 series and pay a little less. The consumer report recommends five outdoor burner grills. It works just as well for you.Over time, they found that, you know, testing it worked really well over time. It's a good deal for you.Kagan: How important is the preheating function provided by these gas grills?I like it very much.I have to tell you that it doesn't make sense, you know, to warm up and to warm up quickly, that's what they're trying to sell you.You 'd better use a smaller grill because that's what really starts up quickly. They don't work very well if you have extra burners, especially when you try to make sauces on them. You 'd better do it on your stove.Kagan: it's important for me to be realistic about your cooking ability, which is very small for me.Willis: Well, it's realistic to know what you're doing and how you use the grill, because it's going to determine what exactly you're buying. Now, if you're one of those people who really like grilling and want to leave these little marks on the side of your meat, I mean, you're a little crazy, think about buying something like this with excessive gratesWill actually give you the size of the effect you want. But, otherwise, I tell you, don't pay for these things, because at the end of the day, you don't need it.Kagan: In the end, make sure everything you buy is solid.Willis: Yes, you know, the test here is simple. When you are in the store, just walk to that thing and shake it.If it rings the bell, then its structure is not good.Make sure the handle is made of wood or plastic instead of metal because it gets hot.It will be hard to take care. And, darling, we will discuss this on Saturday morning on the "open day" this weekend.Join our summer backyard carnival. We also have the latest pool design and we will show you the top models at a lower price. Also, Dream deck.We will help you build your dream deck with the best materials on the market.Nine thirty a.m.Eastern SaturdayKagan: Great.I'm still old-Vintage charcoal from Weber grill. You know, it's a good thing to be a traditionalist.Kagan: work for me.Thanks, Gerri.Willis: You're welcome.Kagan: His death inspired the civil rights movement in a live broadcast on CNN today.Fifty years later, his grave was reopened. The reaction of his family.Emmet Till's cousin is next to me.(Business break) Kagan: take you back to history.Fifty years ago, a limb of 14 peopleyear-The little boy floating on the Mississippi River was found. The news soon spread that he was killed for whistling to a white woman, a story so outrageous that sparked national outrage and helped incite the civil rights movement.Yesterday, federal investigators found a coffin that kept Emmet's body in search of new clues to his murder. Our cousin, Simon Wright, Emmet tilth, also joined us.Mr.Good morning, Wright.Thank you for being with us.Simon Wright, Emmet Tille's cousin: Good morning, darling. It's --Nice to be here.Kagan: You were there on 1955, the day your cousin was kidnapped.Yesterday, you were there when his body was dug up from the grave. Why was it important that you were there yesterday?Yes, yes. This is very important because, as you know, he was taken from my house about 50 years ago and of course he was alive when I last saw him.He was thrown into the tarajasi River after being killed and found there three days later.Yesterday was the puzzle we needed to try to reopen the case.Kagan: there was some controversy about even bringing up his body. The first thing they have to do is actually, in his autopsy, it must be your cousin. There have been rumors over the years that the grave is not the body of your cousin.Wright: Well, that's--This was used by defense counsel at the trial on 1955.They said they were not sure it was Emmet. So for the state of Mississippi, we have to prove to them through forensic evidence that this is emit Tille.Kagan: Let's have a rest then. Some people say it shouldn't happen, your cousin is terrible to die, time has passed and you should let him rest. What would you say to those relatives and those who are not happy with the latest developments?Well, I--As for unhappy relatives, I only know what is the difference between one and the other, 50 years, 50 years or two years? There was a murder, the murder, they were--Some have been released and some have not even been prosecuted. So we are trying to get those who are alive charged with murder.Kagan: so two people were tried for this. They were acquitted and came out to confess later. They're all deeds.WRIGHT:Right.Kagan: You are one of those people who think there are other people in your cousin's murder.Yes, I believe. There were other people holding him in the truck. There was a lady on the truck who recognized Emmet as she was taken out of my house and headed towards the truck. So we know two people are alive today.Kagan: How do I find these answers in an autopsy?Wright: no autopsy--Autopsy done on 1955Today, with the new forensic tool, we can identify the pieces of bullets that may be left behind.Maybe the bullet's still in his head. What we can be sure of is how exactly he died, because you can't appear in court unless you can say how Emmet was killed.Kagan: How old were you on the day your cousin was taken away on 1955?I was 12 years old.Kagan: I would imagine these are pictures of you with each day of your life?Wright: this will never leave. We call --What we call scar tissue.Kagan: how will this latest development help you and the injured people in your family?Wright: Well, it was very helpful to me because on 1955, nothing was done by the authorities, the Mississippi police department, or Tallahassee County.Even the federal government did not do much. But now we have them re-investigating the case, and so far more has been done than in 1955.Kagan: What about the power of your cousin?Although he has only lived for 14 years, his death has also triggered a civil rights revolution. His mother also chose an open coffin at his funeral, so that people could see exactly what her son did.We came here 50 years later.Still, the story has a power with your cousin and people still care and want to go back and look at the case.Wright: The people who were alive during that time, especially the blacks, we were angry at what happened in 1955, how Emmet was brutally killed by these people, Mississippi said: "Who cares?"Kagan: The last one-go ahead, Mr.Wright.Wright: that--This really sets the stage for black Americans. In a sense, what I'm saying is that they will kill us anyway, and we won't just lie down and let them walk through us.Kagan: Well, I think that answers the question of who cares.Quite a few people are concerned about this because today, 50 years later, we are still looking for answers.Give you the last question. When you were at your cousin's cemetery yesterday and they brought up his coffin, you had some private moments, what do you think about your cousin and your cousin?I'm thinking a lot of things. One of the things I was thinking, I asked myself a question, would his murderer be convicted if they hadn't dug up the body of Medgar Evers?I don't think so.I think this is part of the process and you have to do that to get evidence that we need to proceed with the case.Kagan: there's one thing...For now...KAGAN:Go ahead.Wright: just--I was asked, Am I sad?No, I was sad in 1955.There was sadness at that time, there was heartbreak at that time. But it's time to move on and try to get those involved in the crime convicted.Kagan: Well, as part of this process, I really appreciate you taking the time to visit with us this morning.White: Thank you.Thank you, sir.White: Thank you.Kagan: Simon Wright, emit Tilth's first cousin.Thank you for your time, sir.At this point, we will take a break and take a look at these photos.(Business interruption) to order a video of this transcript, please call 800-CNN-News or
