Potato blintzesserve 4 Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes necessary to kill: basic 500g potatoes, thick chopped skin left with 1 egg1/2 onions because frying puts all the ingredients except oil into the food processor and processes them into batter
There should be some potatoes and onions around.
This is a fairly forgiving recipe, but a bit more of a completely smooth batter.
The batter at this stage is quite liquid.
Alternatively, you can grind the onions and potatoes and place the remaining ingredients in a bowl.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in casting
Iron frying pan or flat frying pan on mediumlow heat.
You really need cast iron because there seems to be no other surface to work on --
If you don't have a baking tray, try using the one you grill.
Make sure it's clean first.
Put a cup of batter into the pan at a time and spread it out to form a small round pancake.
Cook for 5 minutes, or until they are placed on top, then turn over and cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly yellow.
Take it out of the pan and put it aside.
Repeat it once with more oil and the remaining batter, about 12 times.
Once you cook the blintzes for the first time, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan with a medium panhigh heat.
Put blintzes back in the pan, work in batches and cook until both sides are golden and crisp.
Serve immediately with your chosen accompaniment. --CHEFWATCH1.
These delicious crispy potato cakes are also known as placki ziemniaczane, if you are from southern Poland, if you are from the north, placki kartoflane, if you2.
It's best to go with sour cream and lemon or add smoked salmon, but you can also sprinkle sugar on it.
